Robotics made easy
Understanding motor control and real-time process control in problem solving has been challenging Java programmers for quite some years. Java enables an easy way of modeling and implementing of a few but complex instructions on machines which have to adhere to the basic laws of physics.
Embedding computers into physical bodies of robots have been both a power and a form factor problem. With the strong real-time requirements in this application the choice of a very powerful and energy consuming processor has been a must.
The IM1000 supports an unlimited number of threads and is designed for implementation of time critical loops in microcode on chip. Adding this to the implemented high level Java ME CLDC profile enables the design of a power efficient real-time control environment with a very limited number of additional components.
