Imsys' microcontroller in lead-free package
Stockholm Sweden, October 12, 2004 - As a certified Sony Green Partner, Imsys Technologies adheres to rules of management regulations for the control of environment-related substances, set forth in Sony Technical Standard SS-00259.
Imsys IM1000 (Cjip) is now available in a lead-free package (also free of cadmium and other banned substances). The type number is IM1101C LQ144T. The device can directly replace its predecessor; there is no difference in mechanical or electrical data. It is now being used in the SNAP module.
The moisture sensitivity class has been changed from 3 to 4, due to the higher soldering temperature used in a lead-free soldering process. There is, however, no increased sensitivity when using a conventional, lower temperature eutectic process.
Customers wanting to use the component in their own lead-free PCB designs will of course need to get lead-free variants also of other components needed on the board. Imsys can provide a listing of suitable lead-free memory components.
